The time to compare energy prices and switch in now. This month consumers were warned about substantial tariff rises on energy bills.
Since then all big 6 suppliers have issued energy bill price hikes due to an increase in wholesale energy costs. In the new year they are predicted to rise again.
As energy prices soar millions are expected to turn their heat down this winter as fuel poverty sets in.
This is the last call to switch and save before any more fluctuations the new year will likely bring. We’ve made it extremely simple.
Don’t Let the Price Cap Confuse You
An additional factor to this change in costs that our teachers need to be aware of is the price cap which comes into play in December 2018.
On the surface this sounds like good news, however the price cap of £1,136 is forecasted for a definite rise very early in 2019.
The price cap therefore does not offer the longer-term protection that many feel temporarily reassured by.
Customers that make the switch will safeguard themselves with confidence during this fluctuating period.
Here’s the Good News
Our Head of Partnerships Luke Ince has been working with Energy Helpline to create a very easy way for teachers to compare deals on the market and switch. He tells us:
‘Every year thousands of teaching staff do not switch their energy supplier. They end up paying way over the odds on standard variable tariffs. Switching is simple and you can confirm your switch in just a few minutes. Moving over to a better tariff you could save up to £537*’.
You can switch straight away by using our simple comparison tool.
54% of people are on a standard variable rate. This means it is highly likely that they are paying too much for their energy bills.
What You Need To Do
It’s extremely easy to switch. Find an old energy bill that tells you your actual or projected usage. Go to our deal and follow the instructions.
You will be asked to input your postcode and current supplier. Run the comparison search and choose the right deal for you. Then switch, start saving and keep warm this winter without the worry.
You also don’t need to tell your current supplier. Simply take meter readings on the date that you switch and keep a safe record of them.
For those concerned that they will have to pay a fee to switch before their current tariff ends, don’t be. If there is 49 days before your tariff ends you can switch without having to pay out.
The message is clear not to sit tight. The price cap won’t necessarily provide the safety buffer you need. Switch and start saving today before the prices rise again.
